Joachim Gunther Thoss, better known as Sonny Thoss, is a Filipino Professional Basketball Player of the Philippine Basketball Association in the Philippines playing for the Alaska Aces. He was born on December 7, 1981 in Papua New Guinea. His is famous by his moniker "Big Boss". The 6?7 center/power forward debunked the so-called 'sophomore jinx' in his second year with the Aces with a sterling performance. A member of the All-Rookie Team by the PBA Press Corps , Thoss appeared in all 49 games and started 28 times where he averaged 5.7 points and 5.4 rebounds in just 21 minutes per game exposure.
